According to a study by second National Youth and Fitness Study, There are children who are upto 11 years have gained more body fat and as the time passed the number is going to increase very rapidly because now children used to play indoor games, watch TV and also sit in front of video game. Thus, result is that they got extra pounds of calories and become obese. As weight increases, health risks also becomes high but you don’t worry as you can tackle the problem by providing them healthy diet. Some of them are mentioned below to make you success.
Diet Chart - You can maintain a diet chart for your child to provide him/her lesser calories. According to that chart, You can take a fried or scrambled egg with a slice of whole wheat bread with ½ cup of grapefruit juice as a breakfast. In lunch, you can eat chicken salad sandwich along with juice pack drink and an apple with cut up carrots having non fat dip. In dinner, you can serve him a broiled lean roast beef with ½ cup of mushroom which can be served hot over the roast beef. Along with this, take 2 cups of tossed salad which was reduced with calorie dressings. Take 1 cup of cooked broccoli and 1 cup of skimmed milk with all. As a snack you can eat 2 cups of popcorn or any homemade chocolate milkshake.
Water - Water is known as elixir of life. It is nature’s best gift to man. It hydrates you too. It not only keeps you cool but also helps to flush out extra toxins from body. Our body needs water to do all works. It also keeps you full for longer time. You need to distinguish between hunger pangs and urge to food. As whenever you have urge to eat, you can drink water. Some physicians also said that you have to drink water before taking meals as it results in eating less food.
Replace High Calorie Foods with Low Calories - You have to encourage your baby to eat healthy foods. You can replace his cheese burger with whole wheat bread as this have less calorie count as compared to burger and also tastes good. Try to eat him fruits and fresh vegetables. For that purpose you can ask them to help in kitchen, by this way you will teach them the nutritional benefits and also it will be fun for them.
Replace Three meals with Five - Inplace of eating three large meals, you have offer 5 meals (3 meals with 2 snacks) to your child. You have to teach your child that eating small quantites of food is a good habit. A research said that if you are taking large meals then it increases your sugar level of the body which can also increase the insulin content. The drawback of this is that it makes child lure for foods which further reshapes as obesity. So, eat in small porions frequently.
