The risk factors of the obesity is not hidden fact. If we are having slight over weight then we suffer from a number of illnesses such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and arthritis but can you believe if the mom is obese the it is the greatest risk for both mom and child of having severe pregnancy and also health related issues.

Obesity - Obesity is what when you have got 30% of extra over the body weight. The reason of obesity can be anything like inactivity, poor dieting habits or health related issues. You can even find out that you are obese or not by using a scale called body mass index (BMI). Depends over the BMI, you can simply find out how much risk you are facing. As if your BMI is from 18.5-25 then there is no need to worry as it is the ideal weight and you are a healthy man or woman. If BMI is between 25-29.9 then you are overweight for your height and lastly, those who have BMI between 30 and above means are at higher risk.

Obesity and pregnancy - Obesity can catch any pf the person having any gender or of any age. In 1962, it was said that13% of American people are obese and to the 1994 the percentage has changes to 23% In 2000, the rate has touches the sky height and becomes over 30%

Particularly, a woman who is expecting if have obesity then directly, it puts bad effects over the reproductive health of that. It can further results in serious health issues and the main thing is it effects the fertility of a woman. The reason is the fat which stores changes the level of sexual hormones which was produced by body and becomes very hard to become pregnant.

Problems faced By Moms - Those who become obese during pregnancy have suffered from some serious health complications which are mentioned below:

1. Gestational Diabetes - This particular kind of diabetes took place during the pregnancy. This also prevents the body to cut down the sugar and the result is that baby gain too much weight in utero.

2. Preeclampsia - It is a conditon where body suffers from high Blood pressure, fluid retention and swelling during pregnancy. If the condition becomes serious then it also restricts the placental blood flow which results as a damger for baby.

Prolems for Baby - The babies whose mothers have become obese during pregnancy have to suffer from some complications such as:

1. Macrosoma - This is a health condition where the baby puts extra counts of weight during the development period. Thus, it results in complicated labor and delivery. It also makes difficult for baby to enter as well as exit the birth canal. These type of large babies sometims got injured shoulders during birth. Which is known as shoulder dystonia.

2. Childhood Obesity - Many studies concludes that babies whose mothers are obese are most of the time becomes obese. On the other hand, only 9% of babies who took birth from a normal weight mother have risk of becoming obese.

What to do?

1. Lose weight before Conceiving - Those who are planning for a baby and are also obese then the first thing before conceiving is to lose weight. They can took help of proper diet and exercise for the purpose.

2. Watch the Gain of Weight - Obese Mothers should not try to lose weight during pregnancy as diet changes can provides less nutrients to the baby and also slows down the growth rate. You need to focus over gaining weight in moderation.
